Blackpool Music Service 7th Annual Christmas Festival 2009
on Tuesday 8th December 2009 at The Ice Arena in the Pleasure Beach complex featured more than 1,200 vocalists and instrumentalists from almost every Blackpool school. Fifty-four VIP's, the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors, senior educationists and a capacity audience fully enjoyed a variety of festive items which were performed at a high standard and with passion and enthusiasm.
Superbly compéred by Radio Wave’s fabulous Breakfast Show presenter Hayley Kay this event celebrated the true spirit of collective music making in Blackpool and announced the arrival of Christmas 2009. Special thanks must be offered to the evenings musical directors including Margaret Aderti (Bispham High Gospel Choir)), Cath Anderton (Thames), Sarah Cheston (Palatine High Swing Choir), Jayne Crow (Mereside), Graeme Dow (Anchorsholme), Kate Fard (Claremont), Karen McCarter (Norbreck), David Miller (BMS) and John Stevens (BMS) and also the dozens of staff who have been preparing their choirs and ensembles since last September.
