The Kings Division Band will be running workshops for woodwind, brass and percussion instrumentalists on Tuesday 18th May, 2010 at Highfield Humanities College.
On Saturday 20th March the Blackpool Youth Concert Band will be travelling to Rochdale Town Hall to perform in the regional series of the National ‘Music for Youth’ Festival 2010.
This will be the first time that an ensemble from Blackpool Music Service has participated in this National project in which 100,000 young music makers from across the country take part in festivals and concerts throughout the year.

Blackpool Music Service has just received their Trinity and Guildhall Examination results for percussion and the outcomes were the best ever. Head of Percussion, Mr Andy Simpson entered twenty-two candidates for practical drum examinations, 54% received distinctions, 27% merits and 18% of the pupils received straight passes. This is well above the national average and highlighted some incredible performances.
Mugebkyo Taiko Drummers
On Sunday 1st November 2009 Blackpool Music Service provided workshops, and a free pre-show talk for Blackpool pupils to share the experience of performing with ‘The Mugebkyo Taiko Drummers’ at the Grand Theatre. Our young percussionists from across the borough also appreciated massive ticket discounts for the evening performance.
